Abstract : A study was conducted to document the occurrence and population fluctuation of T. odinae on mango (Manigera indica [Mangifera indica]) in the Tirupati region of Andhra Pradesh, India. Observations were made weekly on mango cv. Neelum from December 2000 to February 2001. Five plants in the centre of the orchard were randomly selected and from each plant corresponding to four directions, four branches were tagged. From each branch, three panicles were observed. The peak aphid population was observed during the second week of January (325 aphids per 12 panicles). However, a gradual increase was observed from the second week of December (38.0 aphids per 12 panicles) to the fourth week of February (64 aphids per 12 panicles). The aphid population was negatively correlated with the minimum and maximum temperatures and rainfall, but was positively correlated with the relative humidity (in the morning).
