Abstract : An entomological survey of mango orchards of Bareilly district was carried out during winter, summer and rainy season. Six termite species (Odontotermes indicus, O. lokanandi, O. obesus, O. giriensis, O. bhagwatii and Microtermes obesi) were recorded from four experimental sites (viz. Faridpur, Aonla, Baheri and Rithaura in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India). The observations suggested that the number of species of termites infesting mango orchards in winter was significantly higher than those of summer and rainy season. The ambient temperature and moisture contents of the soil determined the distribution of termites. The occurrence of M. obesi at all the locations in each season indicated its wide range of adaptability to climatic variations. The individuals of O. indicus and O. obesus were restricted in the fields of Baheri and Rithaura, respectively.
