Experiment of keeping freshness of mango by a biological membrane agent.

Abstract : An experiment was conducted with Tianyang Xiangmang and Tainong 1 mango cultivars. The biological membrane agents used were BP-A and BP-B. Harvested fruits were soaked in the solution containing the biological membrane agent for 1 minute, then after drying, they were put in the storage room at room temperature. The percentages of good quality fruits after storage for 10 days, following treatment with BP-A, were 92.2% and 81.9% for Tianyang Xiangmang and Tainong 1, respectively; while for treatment with BP-B they were 89.1% and 91.8%, respectively; in the control (treated with pure water) the figures were only 77.0% and 65.8%.
