Abstract : It is concluded from studies with Belkhas, Parikhas and Ati Bombai that the first two varieties are suitable as dwarfing rootstocks because of their short stature, smaller number of secondary roots, lower root dry weight, smaller number of root vessels, higher percentage of root bark and lower respiration.
