Does stone weevil (Sternochetus mangiferae (Fabricius)) infestation affect fruit size of mango?

Abstract : The effects of infestation by S. mangiferae on the size of fruits of mango cultivars Alphonso, Banganpalli, Bombay Green, Jahangir, Langra, Mulgoa, Raspuri, Survarnarekha and Totapuri were studied in Hessaraghatta, Bangalore, Karnataka, India, during 2002. Infestation significantly reduced fruit length and circumference in Alphonso, Bombay Green and Raspuri, but did significantly affect these parameters in the other cultivars.
