Abstract : A study was conducted to develop methods using leaf width to estimate total absorption of CO2 and its reduction from the atmosphere and impact on mango yield. The developed method for estimation of absorption of mass of CO2 and the method for mass reduction of CO2 from atmosphere were useful. The absorption and reduction of mass of CO2 tree h-1 was 187.15 and 51.87 g, respectively, from the atmosphere for Kesar mango tree. Kesar mango absorbed CO2 at 243.36 kg tree-1 season-1 while reduced CO2 at 67.431 kg tree-1 season-1 of 130 days from the atmosphere. The total nutrients utilized by Kesar mango was approximately 19 kg tree-1 season-1 of 130 days. Regression coefficients indicated that absorbed 1 kg CO2 was utilized for yielding 0.148 to 0.258 kg fruits from flowering to fruit maturity throughout the fruiting seasons in different years.
