Abstract : Carbendazim, thiophanate, benlate [benomyl] and fosetyl in combination with dimethoate or imidacloprid were used to control fungal diseases and trunk borers on mango trees with a simultaneous application. The pesticides were used as impregnated sponge granules and were implanted into holes made in trunks with the help of hand drill below the infested area of trees at an angles of 30-35° from the surface level. The dose of pesticide and required number of holes were determined according to the age, size and level of infestation on each tree. The applications were found suitable for an adequate control. Around 80% control of the trunk borer and 60% control of fungi were achieved with this implantation technique.
