Abstract : Fruits of the mango cv. Haden were harvested on 17 May and on 4 and 12 June, and those of Kent on 4 June, 14 July and 11 August. The fruits were graded according to their initial coloration and left to ripen at 23 plus or minus 2 deg C and 60-70% RH. In Haden different harvest dates had no effect on the internal coloration of fully ripe fruits but early harvested fruits had a more intense external coloration when fully ripe. In Kent early harvested fruits developed more intense red internal coloration than fruits harvested at a later date; the internal yellow coloration, however, was the same regardless of harvest date.
