Abstract : An experiment was conducted in West Bengal, India, to study the effect of growth regulators (2,4-D, NAA, GA3 and Planofix) on the biochemical composition of mango cv. Amrapali. The treatments comprised: 5 ppm 2,4-D (T1); 10 ppm 2,4-D (T2); 20 ppm GA3 (T3); 30 ppm GA3 (T4); 20 ppm NAA (T5); 30 ppm NAA (T6); 0.5 ml Planofix/litre (T7); 0.75 ml Planofix/litre (T8); and water spray (T9; control). T2 gave the highest ascorbic acid content (46.2 mg/100 g of fruit pulp). T3 gave the highest total soluble solids content (21.22°Brix), total sugar content (16.77%) and reducing sugar (7.00%). T6 gave the highest acidity (0.256%).
