Abstract : A laboratory experiment was conducted to study the effect of different postharvest treatments on the storage behaviour of mango cv. Chausa fruits. The fruits were treated with CaCl2 (5, 10 and 15%), Ca(NO3)2, CA (1, 2 and 3%), GA3 (100, 200 and 300 ppm) NAA (100, 200 and 300 ppm) and hot water dip (52°C) and were subsequently stored at room temperature for 25 days in wooden boxes after wrapping in perforated polyethylene bags (150 gauge) with 10 vents. GA3 at 200 ppm was very effective in prolonging the storage life of Chausa mango at room temperature up to 15 days compared to the control. GA3 at 100 and 300 ppm also proved quite beneficial. Total soluble solid and reducing sugar contents increased up to 15 days of storage and decreased thereafter, whereas, acidity levels of the fruits decreased throughout the storage period.
