Abstract : The methods used for short term seed storage, usually at moisture levels above 20% and ambient temperatures above 15 deg C (a few spp. will tolerate 4 deg ) in sawdust, charcoal or absorbant paper in plastic bags are described. The requirements for maintaining viability in mango, rambutan, cacao, rubber, coffee and oil palm seeds for up to 7 months (in some cases) are tabulated.
