Abstract : The heat unit for the optimum maturation of mango cultivars Alphonso, Raspuri, Dashehari and Langra was determined in an experiment conducted in Bangalore, Karnataka, India during 2001-02. Cultivar Langra recorded the highest maximum heat unit required for maturation (1423±89 cumulative heat sums) which was reached in 130 days, whereas cv. Alphonso recorded the lowest heat unit required for maturation (1164±124 cumulative heat sums) which was reached in 110 days.
