Quality characters of some mango hybrids at Sabour.

Abstract : Eleven mango hybrids, including the control (Langra), were evaluated during 2001 in Sabour, Bihar, India. Langra recorded the highest pulp content (76.05%) and the lowest stone percentage (11.55%), whereas Amrapali recorded the lowest peel percentage (8.46%). Amrapali recorded the highest total soluble solids (24.81%) and total sugar content (16.13%), while Langra recorded the highest acidity (0.343%). Heavier fruits were observed in Mallika (463.33 g), Neeluddin (427.00 g) and Neeleshan (400.56 g), all of which had greater fruit size. The highest number of fruits per tree (304.00) was obtained from Amrapali, while the lowest (70.33) was obtained in Mallika.
