Abstract : In 6 mango cvs (Dashehari, Chausa, Langra, Lucknow Safeda, Bombay Green and Benazir) 4 linear relationships between leaf surface area and leaf characteristics were investigated in order to find out the best method of estimation. The 4 regression equations estimating leaf surface area were made with length and breadth individually and together and with the product of length and breadth. Further investigations were made to compare different cvs within a method and different methods in a cv. For most accurate estimation of the leaf area, the product of length and breadth is preferred, and for quick and convenient estimation breadth should be used.
