Abstract : Sevn-year-old trees of 13 mango cultivars and hybrids (Amrapali, Mallika, Prabhashankar, Mahmud Bahar, Alfazli, Sunder Langra, Neelgoa, Neeluddin, Neelashan, Ratna, Arka Puneet, Arka Anmol and Langra) were evaluated over 2 years for floral malformation and fruit fly incidence in Sabour (Bhagalpur), Bihar, India. Amrapali had the highest incidence of malformation (29.00 and 23.70% in the first and second year, respectively) while Arka Puneet had the lowest (9.00 and 9.68% in the first and second year, respectively). Amrapali was also the most susceptible to fruit fly infestation, whereas Mahmud Bahar and Ratna (which had intermediate values for malformation) were the most resistant. Early cultivars and hybrids were less susceptible to fruit fly infestation, mid-maturing cultivars and hybrids were moderately susceptible and late-maturing cultivars and hybrids were most susceptible.
