Studies on correlation and path analysis in mango.

Abstract : Field and laboratory experiments were conducted in Bihar, India, to determine correlations among some yield and quality traits in mango. Yield per plant was positively and significantly associated with cumulative yield per plant and fruit weight. Fruit weight was positively and significantly associated with cumulative yield per plant. Percent acidity was negatively but non-significantly associated with all the traits. Path analysis for fruit weight showed high direct effect of yield per plant. Cumulative yield per plant showed very high indirect effect via fruit yield per plant. Fruit weight and yield per plant appeared to be important traits for bringing the desired improvement in mango.
