Abstract : Field experiments were conducted in Bihar, India, to assess the genetic variation among 31 genotypes (chance seedling) of mango. A wide range of variation was observed for all the characters except in total soluble solids (TSS) where it was low. The magnitude of phenotypic coefficient of variation was higher than the corresponding genotypic coefficient of variation. High heritability coupled with high genetic advance was observed for yield per plant and fruit weight. Significant and positive correlation for yield per plant with fruit weight and cumulative yield per plant both at the phenotypic and genotypic levels was observed.
