Production of mango Nubbins "Ewais Cultivar" under environmental conditions of Assiut.

Abstract : Three chemicals definitely Benzyl adenine (BA), Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and Gibberellic acid (GA3) each alone or in various combinations were sprayed when flowers opening and one week after the first treatment on the bagged panicles to produce nubbin fruits under environmental conditions of Assiut during 2004 & 2005 seasons. Results showed that application of BA, NAA or GA3 alone or in double combinations of (BA & NAA), (NAA & GA3) and (BA & GA3) did not prove effective in inducing parthenocarpic fruit of Ewais mango cv. Fully developed parthenocarpic fruits were obtained using a combination of BA:NAA:GA3 at 250:10:250 ppm. On the other hand, Nubbin fruits were significantly greater in pulp/stone ratio and total soluble solids (TSS%) than seeded fruits.
