Abstract : Monitoring of fruit flies on mangoes in Brazil is carried out with the following objectives: detection; delimitation of geographical range; identification of species; and population monitoring. Trap densities for monitoring Ceratitis capitata and Anastrepha spp. in rsk localities, urban areas and mango crops are recommended. The use of the index of flies/trap per day by producers participating in an export programme is described.
