Abstract : Mango trees of the cv. Zebda bear fruit in alternate years and do not flower at all in the off years. The number of flowers is highest at the base of the inflorescence but the number of complete flowers (with female as well as male parts) increases towards the top of the inflorescence. As a result the mature fruit (only 0.3-0.4/inflorescence) are born on the terminal part.
