Evaluation of polytrin C44 (a.i./profenophos 40%+cypermethrin 4%) against hopper complex of Magnifera indica L.

Abstract : Polytrin C, a combination of profenophos [profenofos] 40%+ cypermethrin 4%, was tested against mango hoppers at concentrations of 0.044, 0.066 and 0.088% and compared with conventional pesticides, i.e. 0.15% carbaryl, 0.05% endosulfan, 0.05% monocrotophos, 0.0075% cypermethrin and 0.2% nimbicidine, during 2000/01 to 2002/03 in Maharashtra, India. Polytrin C at 0.066 and 0.088% concentrations were found equally effective in comparison to 0.05% endosulfan, 0.15% carbaryl and 0.05% monocrotophos in controlling the mango hoppers Amritodus atkinsoni, Idioscopus neveosparsus and I. nagpurensis.
