Abstract : The flowering phenology of high density mango was analyzed in Maracay, Aragua, Venezuela. The cultivars studied were 'Springfels', 'Edward' and 'Haden'. Controls were used with three treatments: paclobutrazol application (T+PBZ), pruning (P), and pruning plus paclobutrazol application (P+PBZ). The comparison among cultivars showed that 'Springfels' had fewer flowering events with less duration than 'Edward' y 'Haden'. The relation between the beginning of flowering and total rainfall were analyzed, also the accumulated number of days with temperatures lower a 20°C, 30 days before flowering in the test cultivars. In T+PBZ the number and duration of flowering events increased in all cultivars; in P there was a decrease in the number and duration of the events; P+PBZ produced a similar effect to the last treatment, but did not affect the flowering.
