Abstract : This study was conducted to evaluate tropical fruit crops growing in saline soils and to determine the critical levels of salt for specific species. Soil samples were taken from saline soils where coconut, mango, tamarind, cashew, date, avocado, spanish lime, guava, hog plum, lime and passion fruit grew. Tamarind and cashew were associated with the highest salinity, more than 40 c.e., mmhos cm-1, coconut and mango between 10 and 25, and the other fruit crops evaluated at lower levels. The highest salinity was found in the upper 0 to 30 cm.
