Abstract : In Loma Blanca farm, of the La Confianza Minor Crops Enterprise of the Ministry of Agriculture, located in southern Guaso Valley, Guantanamo municipality and province, on Cambisol (Eutropept) soil, an experience has been developed on the behavior of alternate strips of Neem and mango tress, in association with cassava, under rainfed conditions, during 2004-05, following a Zade layout and with double classification ANOVA, in 5 hectares. The agroecological improvement of the area, positive environmental impacts for communities and the achievement of food production by sustainable means, are emphasized. Possibilities of influencing the incidence of rain in the territory, on weeds, and environmental health, versus desertification of the region, are foreseen. The difference with the Taungya system is signified.
