Mineral composition of tropical fruits at harvest.

Abstract : The N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, B, Cl, Cu, Fe, Mn, Mo, Zn, Co, Al and Na contents were determined in the skin, pulp and/or seeds of avocado, pineapple, banana, Brazil nut, guava, Artocarpus integrifolia, pawpaw, mango and passion fruit. The data are tabulated. The nutrient uptake/t of fruit was also calculated, and the data are tabulated. The greatest uptake was generally that of N and K and the least that of Mo. The fruit which showed the greatest nutrient uptake was the Brazil nut.
