Abstract : Excess (33.3%) or deficiency (17.3%) in soil moisture content significantly reduced the net photosynthesis rate and stomatal conductance of potted mango seedlings, although the treatments had no significant effects on the curve of the net photosynthesis, stomatal conductance and transpiration of the crop. The optimum soil moisture content for potted mango ranged from 20.2 to 25.4%. Transpiration was adversely affected by water deficiency. Soil moisture content was strongly correlated with stomatal conductance.
