Abstract : D. sublimbalis (red-banded mango caterpillar) affects 20-40% of fruit in Papua New Guinea (PNG) where mangoes are a significant part of the diet. Control is difficult. Laboratory trials and field observations were therefore conducted to investigate its behaviour and biology in PNG and formulate cultural or other control methods to reduce the damage it causes.
