Abstract : This study investigated the effects of stone crusher dust exposure on the sugar content of leaves of Mangifera indica, Acacia arabica [A. nilotica], Cassia tora, Ziziphus jujuba, Triticum aestivum, Ricinus communis and Clerodendron infortunatum [Clerodendrum infortunatum] growing in and around stone dust quarries in Jharkhand, India. Sugar content of the selected species showed insignificant results as regards plants and sites. However, on the basis of CD values, some of the results were significant, especially in the buffer zones represented by increase in distance from the quarry sites.
