On the bagging techniques for subtropical and tropical fruits.

Abstract : This subject is discussed on the following headings: 1. The advantages of bagging, including obviously protected the damages by pests and diseases, high economic profit and good effect for environmental conditions; 2. choice of bagging materials; 3. pre-handle for bagging; 4. Bagging time; 5. How to doing bagging; 6. existing problems for bagging. It is indicated that for bagging large fruited Custard apple (Anona squamosa), Zihua monago the best bag is single layer white bags; for litchi, longan and Wampii (Clausena lansium) the best is adhesive-bonded fabric bags; for red mango cultivar using the white adhesive-bonded fabric bags are better. The best bagging period for large fruited fruits is 20-30 days after flowering, for Navel orange is after the second physiological fruitlet fall; for mandarin is in June to mid August. The best taking off bag period for pomelo and orange is 15 days before harvest.
