Abstract : A study was conducted in Madhya Pradesh, India to evaluate the performance of mango cv. Langra on different rootstocks (Bappakai, Chandrakaran, Muvandan, Vellaikolamban, Olour, Kalepad, and random stock). The parameters tested were: plant height, canopy height, rootstock and scion circumference, spread/tree, volume/tree, malformation and fruit drop. The fruit number/tree was in the range 36.42-75.92, and was highest on Bappakai rootstock, followed by Vellaikolamban and Chandrakaran. The lowest fruit yield was obtained on Olour rootstock, followed by random rootstock. All components, except fruit weight and quality, were affected by the rootstock used. The rootstocks Bappakai, Vellaikolamban and Chandrakaran were suitable for the vegetative propagation of mango cv. Langra.
