Abstract : The effect of shoot pruning on floral malformation of mango cv. Dashehari was investigated during 2001/02 and 2002/03 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. The following shoot pruning treatments were applied at panicle emergence: control (no pruning) and removal of newly emerged malformed panicle with 1, 10, 20, 30 and 40 cm shoot. Data were recorded for number of total panicles per tree, number of malformed panicles per tree and percentage of malformation. Results showed that moderate pruning of 20 cm shoot bearing malformed panicles in the month of January at panicle emergence was most effective in suppressing the incidence of malformation.
