Flowering behaviour of mango in different directions.

Abstract : Studies were conducted during 2002-03 in Karnataka, India, to determine the influence of solar radiation on flowering behaviour in mango crop. Visual flowering percentage and behaviour of the individual tree with respect to the different directions of solar radiation interception (north-east, north-west, south-east and south-west) were recorded weekly. The results revealed that visual flowering percentage was highest in south-east direction compared to other directions. Further during the year, flowering initiation took place during the last week of December and attained full bloom in the later part of January.
