Abstract : The incidence of Indarbela spp. damaging the bark of various kinds of fruit trees was surveyed at 46 localities spread over the Indian State of Haryana; 1487 trees of the 4125 examined (36.05%) contained 8579 current borer holes with webs, 70% of the infested trees having 1-5 holes and 30% 6-85 holes each. Details of the findings are shown in tables. Ambla (Phyllanthus emblica (Emblica officinalis)) was the most preferred food-plant, followed by pear (bagukosha), jaman (Syzygium cuminii), pomegranate, Pyrus pyrifolia, ber (Ziziphus mauritiana), guava, plum, orange, mango, litchi and peach. At 7 of the localities Indarbela spp. were not present, and incidence was very low at 5 localities, low at 10, moderate at 10 and high at 14.
