Abstract : The production of a plat in terms of fruit generation plays important role in the economic and financial condition of the state. If the information related to production is available before time, the planners of the state in various fields find it easy to perform their work in related fields. In this paper an effort has been made to predict the production of mango in the state of West Bengal. Prediction is made based on previous years available data. Soft computing model includes fuzzy logic, neural network, evolutionary algorithm, probability reasoning, chaos theory, etc. Here an effort has been made to make a comparative study on the performance of the model using fuzzy logic and neural network with statistical model using the mango production information of the state of West Bengal. The method of least square using linear, exponential, curvilinear (parabolic) equation and orthogonal polynomial method and neural network which have been used.
