The performance of Maya mango cultivar in Panxi area, Sichuan province and its cultural techniques.

Abstract : Maya is a mango cultivar, introduced from Israel. Trials proved it is a promising cultivar suitable to be grown at Panxi area. Fruit mature in late July till mid August, are large, weighing 320-400 g, but reaching 694 g, having a glossy bright red skin. Flesh is light yellow in colour, fine, tender, juicy with few fibres, containing a soluble solids content of 15-18% and edible rate of 76-82%, of good eating quality. The trees are precocious and productive, mainly producing fruit on autumn and summer shoots. Resistant to anthracnose, stem rot and powdery mildew. It is suitable to be grown at the place with elevation less than 1250 m.
