Abstract : The residual dynamics in stored mango fruits treated with 50% WP Sporgon (prochloraz) were analysed by GC with ECDNi63. The results showed that Sporgon residual amounts of the Sporgon-treated mango fruits were 0.8929-1.0433 mg/kg in Guangxi and 0.8506-0.9522 mg/kg in Guangdong, China. The half lives of the fungicide were 8-9 days in Guangxi and 8 days in Guangdong. More than 92% Sporgon was degraded at 30 days after application. The last residues were 0.0003-0.0082 mg/kg in Guangxi and 0.0003-0.0089 mg/kg in Guangdong in mango flesh and 0.0037-0.1171 mg/kg in Guangxi and 0.0030-0.1179 mg/kg in Guangdong in whole mangoes (flesh and skin) after the mangos were treated with 1000-2000 mg Sporgon/kg and stored for 10-30 days. It was suggested that the application of 1000-2000 mg 50% WP Sporgon/kg on stored mangoes with at least 10 days interval between 2 applications is safe to conserve mangoes with less than 2 mg/kg residues in the fruits.
