Abstract : The level of knowledge of improved cultivation practices for mango was evaluated in mango growers in Dharwad and Belgaum districts in Karnataka, India. The respondents consisted of 20 farmers from each of the 6 villages that were selected. The majority of the mango growers (72.50%) had moderate levels of knowledge, whereas 14.17 and 13.33% of the growers had low and high levels of knowledge of improved cultivation practices. Most of the farmers were educated, and had varying degrees of exposure to mass media, especially those related to agricultural programmes, and good extension contact with grass-root-level extension workers. The majority of the respondents also participated in Krishimela and exhibitions elated to agriculture.
