Abstract : The present paper enumerates 12 medicinal plant species which are useful to cure diarrhoea. These plants have antidiarrhoea activities. These species are used as folk medicines in the treatment of diarrhoea by the rural people and common people of Meerut district. These plants are Aegle marmelos, Andrographis paniculata, Bauhinia variegata, Bryophyllum pinnatum, Butea monosperma, Centella asiatica, Gossypium herbaceum, Mangifera indica, Nymphaea stellata, Papaver somniferum, Plantago ovata and Syzygium cumini.
