Abstract : The study was made to assess relative efficacy of different inoculation techniques to screen ten mango cultivars against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata] for early detection of resistance source under artificial inoculation. Among the three methods evaluated, celite powder used as abrasive before inoculation, showed earlier symptoms, high disease intensity than other methods. The cultivars Mallika and Alampur Beneshan showed moderately susceptible reaction and so they may be used for selecting a clone free from anthracnose disease.
