Abstract : A survey of Sternochetus mangiferae infesting mango trees was carried out on the whole of Guadeloupe Island. The behaviour of six mango cultivars was observed by comparison of the weevil attacks. For two cultivars, Julie and Irwin, a twice-weekly follow-up of the layings was carried out from 11 April to 2 June 2005. Results revealed that the pest is present all over the island. It affected all cultivars, but larvae seemed to have difficulties developing on cv. Julie seeds.
