Abstract : The effects of growing media (normal potting mixture, potting mixture + azophos at 10 g per bag and potting mixture + azophos + coir pith at 10 g per bag) on mango (cultivars Kalepod, Panchavarnam and Alphonsa) seed germination and seedling growth were studied. Among the cultivars, Kalepod registered the highest mean germination percentage (58%), whereas Alphonsa recorded the highest mean seedling weight (55.2 g). Among the growing media, potting mixture + coir pith was superior with regard to the mean germination percentage (40%), seedling height (15.9 cm), root length (12.5 cm), number of leaves (7.2), seedling fresh weight (55.7 g), and vigour index (2196).
