Abstract : Suspended particulate matter (SPM), a significant pollutant in industrial areas, adversely alters epidermal characteristics of exposed leaves of mango. This study revealed that SPM reduced mitotic index of mango leaf up to 6.4%, compared with 14.8% in the control. Turbagenecity and clastogenecity reached 0.5 and 0.88%, respectively, compared with nil in the control.
