Abstract : For 18 months, fruits were collected to determine the hosts of carambola fruit fly (B. carambolae) in Oiapoque, Amapá, Brazil. Some 167 samples of fruits representing 17 species were collected. Among the samples of carambola, 95% were infested by the carambola fruit fly. These samples yielded up to 454 pupae/kg of fruit. New fruit hosts for the carambola fruit fly were found in Galibi village: Genipa americana, Chrysobalanus icaco, Citrus limonia, Annona muricata, Spondias dulcis and, for the first time in Brazil, Capsicum annuum. The insect was also detected in the following known host plants: Mangifera indica, Psidium guajava and Syzygium jambos. Parasitoids emerging from P. guajava and S. lutea were Doryctobracon areolatus, Opius bellus and Asobara anastrephae.
