Abstract : Melissopalynological studies of Apis florea honey were undertaken during August 2006 to July 2007 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. A total of 85 honey samples from Apis florea colonies were collected and analysed for pollen diversity and density. Cuphea micrantha, Cocos nucifera, Psidium guajava, Eucalyptus sp., Foeniculum vulgare, Mangifera indica, Pongamia pinnata, Peltophorum ferrugineum [P. pterocarpum], Tamarindus indica, Callistephus chinensis and Acnistus arborescens were the predominant pollen types found in the honey samples during different periods of the year.
