Abstract : Mango anthracnose (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata]) is an important disease for mango [Mangifera indica] trees. It can attack the flowers, leaves, branches and fruit. It is usually concealed in the fruit and causes the fruit to rot in storage. This article discusses the following: using physical or chemical agents for control; using plant extracts for control; using microbial antagonists for control; and suggestions for the future. It is indicated that spraying solutions of oxalic acid or salicylic acid could induce disease resistance. Among the plant extracts, extracts of Scutellaria baicalensis can supress the pathogen.
