Screening of mango cultivars against mango hoppers under field conditions.

Abstract : A total of 23 cultivars of mango were screened against two species of mango hoppers, viz., Idioscopus clypealis (Leth.) and Amritodus atkinsoni (Leth.), under field conditions at Kumarganj, Faizabad during 2003-04. While none of the cultivars showed immune reaction, two cultivars, viz., Bangalora and Amebelaby were rated as resistant and five, viz., Gillas, Gulabkhas, Chandra Karan, Mallika and Gourjeet as tolerant to the hoppers. Eleven cultivars, viz., Safeda Lucknow, Bombay Green, Totaapuri, Deshi, Himsagar, Shukul, Langra Kakori, Barahmasi, Banarsi Langra, S B Chausa and Sundraza were rated as susceptible and five, viz., Dashehari, Nisarpasand, Zardalu, Ratul and Neelum as highly susceptible.
