Abstract : A field investigation was conducted for two cropping seasons (1999-2000 & 2000-01) to study the effect of foliar application of chemicals and plant growth regulators on flowering regulation in mango cv. Baneshan. Chemicals and growth regulators like KH2PO4, K2HPO4, H3PO4, KNO3, Urea, Paclobutrazol, TIBA etc., were sprayed at different concentrations to observe the flowering and fruiting on fruited and non-fruited shoots. The average number of fruits per panicle at harvest was maximum with spraying of paclobutrazol 1000 ppm and minimum with control and TIBA 100 ppm. The number of fruits harvested per tree was maximum with K2HP04, 0.5% while the yield per tree was maximum with H3PO4 0.5% where as the minimum was noticed in absolute control and H3PO4 1.0%. In general, lower concentrations of various chemicals were proved better than higher concentrations.
