Fruit quality of leading late varieties of mango.

Abstract : The studies were carried out with eleven late varieties of mango on 15 years old tree at Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour during the year 2004. Minimum peel percentage 13.32% was recorded in Alfazli which was at par with Mallika (13.59%). Prabha Shankar (13.61%) and Fazli (13.71%). The stone percentage was also minimum in Alfazli (8.45%) followed by Mallika (11.20%) and Maximum in Baramasia (20.32%). The pulp percentage was better in Alfazli (78.23%). Mallika (75.21%), Fazli (74.38%), Prabha Shankar (73.91%) and Chausa (71.32%). Minimum pulp content was recorded in Baramasi (62.23%). Accordingly Alfazli and Mallika had high edible non-edible ratio 3.60 and 3.05 respectively, while Baramasia had lowest ratio (1.65).
