Yield potential and fruit morphology of some late varieties of mango.

Abstract : The trial was conducted with eleven varieties namely Baramasia, Chausa, Sipia, Sukul, Taimuria, Amrapali, Alfazli, Mallika, Mahmud Bahar, Prabha Shankar and Fazli at Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour during, 2004 on 15 years old tree. Maximum 493.00 fruits/tree was observed in Amrapali with maximum weight also (82.97 kg fruit/tree). Other high yielding varieties were Mallika (81.25 kg/tree) and Prabha Shankar (79.55 kg/tree). Much variation in fruit morphology in respect of stalk thickness, base, cavity, shape, sinus, beak, apex, surface, dots and finally fruit colour were observed.
