Effect of GA3 sprays on time of blooming and flowering malformations in Taimour mango.

Abstract : Mango trees, cv. Taimour (which tends to flower early in the year, in adverse weather conditions, and produces many malformed flowers) were sprayed with GA3 at 10-75 p.p.m. in mid-November. All treatments delayed the time of flower bud opening, increased the number of perfect flowers, improved pollen viability and increased fruit set and yield. The best results were obtained with 50 p.p.m., the yield being about 4 times greater than that of control trees.
